Hand-in-Hand Launches First Official Toastmasters Club in Guyana’s Insurance Sector
The Hand-in-Hand Mutual Fire Insurance Company Ltd, Guyana’s longest established and AM Best rated insurer is proud to announce the official launch of the ‘Hand-in-Hand Group of Companies Toastmasters Club’, making it the first-ever Toastmasters club within Guyana’s insurance industry. This historic initiative was conceptualized and brought to life under the leadership of HR & Administration Manager, Mrs. Zaida Joaquin, with vital support from Marketing & Direct Sales Supervisor, Brandon Singh.
The club’s launch aligns meaningfully with Hand-in-Hand’s 160th anniversary, reinforcing the company’s longstanding commitment to empowering its people, strengthening leadership capacity, and innovating within the corporate space. The establishment of this club underscores Hand-in-Hand’s belief that effective communication is the foundation of exceptional service, visionary leadership, and long-term national impact.

Through Toastmasters International, a globally recognized platform operating in over 140 countries, members of the Hand-in-Hand Toastmasters Club will now have access to structured development in public speaking, leadership, critical thinking, and professional communication at an international standard.
Speaking on the launch, Mrs. Joaquin emphasized that this club represents “a transformational step toward nurturing confident and dynamic leaders from within our organization.” She added that the vision is not only internal development, but also to eventually volunteer and mentor within the wider Guyanese community in the area of leadership and communication.
