The Hand-in-Hand Insurance Company once again sponsored its annual Inter-County U19 three day and 50-over round tournament.
The tournament was launched on April 30th, 2019 and is the fourth year the company has committed to this tournament, which over the years has produced well rounded players such as West Indian Players Shimron Hetmyer and Keemo Paul.

The tournament which was completed on Sunday, 19th May, 2019, at Georgetown Cricket Club Ground, Bourda started off smoothly with Hand-in-Hand representatives on site at each ground for the presentation ceremony at the end of each match. However, the tournament was hindered for a few days by the continuous rainfall throughout the country.

In the final game, Daniel Mootoo starred with the ball and Sachin Singh produced with the bat to lead Demerara to victory against Berbice. At the presentation ceremony which followed the game, Demerara received the 50-over trophy, while Berbice received the Three-day trophy. Several players were also rewarded for individual excellence.

Individual awards went to:

  • Junior Sinclair – Most Valuable Player (374 runs, 11 wickets, four dismissals)
  • Junior Sinclair- Most runs (374)
  • Kelvin Umroa- Most wickets (26)
  • Mavendra Dindyal- Most dismissals (5)

Mr. Howard Cox, Director/Fire Manager, at the presentation expressed his satisfaction for a well organised and played tournament and stated that the company will continue to commit to the development of cricket and sports in Guyana.
